Jokowi Gives IDR 43 Trillion for Papua Next Year
The government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will disburse a budget for Transfers to Regions and Village Funds (TKDD) to Papua of IDR 43.48 trillion next year, an increase of 2.25% from the 2021 budget.
"Increase according to Law 2/2021 regarding Special Autonomy in Papua from 2% of the National DAU (General Allocation Fund) to 2.25% of the National DAU," explained Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in her official Instagram account, quoted Monday (29/11/2021). ).
Sri Mulyani detailed that the 2022 TKDD budget for Papua is for infrastructure of Rp. 2.4 trillion, special autonomy funds of Rp. 5.78 trillion, an increase from last year's budget of Rp. 5.29 trillion.
Then village funds amounted to Rp 4.8 trillion, down from last year's budget of Rp 6.67 trillion. And the General Allocation Fund (DAU) of Rp 20.5 trillion. There is also a Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH) of Rp 3.3 trillion.
As for West Papua this year, the TKDD allocation is IDR 16.45 trillion in 2022, down from the 2021 allocation of IDR 17.7 trillion.
In detail, the TKDD budget for West Papua, namely for infrastructure, is Rp. 1.75 trillion, the special autonomy fund is Rp. 2.27 trillion, or the same as last year's budget.
Then the village fund of Rp 1.55 trillion. And the DAU of Rp 7.48 trillion, down from last year's budget of Rp 7.57 trillion. There is also a DBH amounting to Rp 910 billion, a decrease compared to last year's budget of Rp 2.16 trillion.
Sri Mulyani explained, in addition to Transfer Funds to Regions managed by Regional Governments in the Regional Budget, the Central Government (Ministries and Institutions) still spends in Papua and West Papua - reaching Rp 24.65 Trillion (2021).
"This very large fund is definitely enough to pay for scholarships for Papuan children. Even Papuan children also receive scholarships through the LPDP affirmation," explained Sri Mulyani.
Sri Mulyani said that the large budget for Papua and West Papua is to advance the welfare and prosperity of the people of Papua and West Papua.
The Regional Governments of Papua and West Papua, both at the provincial, district and city levels, said Sri Mulyani, also have a very big responsibility to manage the budget in an effective manner, right on target, not being corrupted and must be transparently accountable to the people of Papua and West Papua.
"To fight poverty, education, health, MSME programs, training workers, building infrastructure and achieving Sustainable Development Goals," he said.
