Expansion of Papua Region Prioritizing Community Interests

The expansion of the Papua region prioritizes the interests of the community because this program was created for them. When provinces are added, the community will feel comfortable because it is easier to take care of important letters to local government offices.

In Papua, there are already 2 provinces, namely Papua and West Papua. However, there will be additions so that there are a total of 5 provinces, and the additions are the provinces of South Papua, Central Highlands Papua, and Papua Tabi Saireri. The division of territory is a natural thing because a lot also happens in other provinces and the goal is for the benefit of the community.

Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin stated that the expansion of the Papua region would accelerate development there. The reason is because if there is a new province, there will automatically be new government buildings, new schools, and so on. With this development, the civilians on Earth of Cendrawasih will benefit the most.

First, people can arrange important papers more closely and quickly because they don't have to go all the way to Jayapura. Logically, if there are many provinces, then there will be a new governor's office and office. The public can take care of various important letters to the new office, with more time and cost saving, because the distance is closer.

Second, if there is regional expansion, there will be a new province and that means there will be APBD funds from the government. This disbursement of funds is expected by the community, because it can be used to develop the area. For example, if a remote area has a macadam road, it can be paved with the budget from the APBD.

As a result, people's mobility will be smoother so they can travel faster and don't have to walk anymore. With smooth mobility, you can be enthusiastic about going to work or looking for a new job. Life will be easier because the road access is also easier. They are not afraid of being isolated just because of the bad roads in the district.

While the third, when there is regional expansion, there is a new governor, which according to special autonomy must be from Papuan natives (OAP). He will listen more to the aspirations of the people on Earth of Cendrawasih because he wants to build his own area and knows what the needs of the people there are. The community also benefits because the new governor is usually more enthusiastic and has fresh ideas.

Filep Wamafma, Senator for West Papua, stated that the plan for regional expansion would further promote the progress and prosperity of the Papuan people. So, this expansion will focus more on indigenous Papuans, because they have to be the hosts in their own area.

The government has prioritized indigenous Papuans, first by establishing a Papuan People's Assembly as representatives of the indigenous people of the Earth of Cendrawasih. Second, in the Special Autonomy it is stated that all officials from the governor (and deputy) level to the regent and mayor must also be native Papuans. This is not choosy, but gives them the opportunity to develop their own area.

When there is division of territory, the governor, deputy, and their staff must be filled with native Papuans. By prioritizing the indigenous people on Earth of Cendrawasih, they will understand better how to approach the community, whether in times of peace or when there is turmoil.

The expansion of the Papua region really prioritizes the interests of the indigenous people on the Earth of Cendrawasih. First, they will be provided with very adequate facilities and infrastructure. Second, there will be APBD funds that can be used for the benefit of civilians. Third, all new governors and leaders in the new province are native Papuans, so they can develop their own regions. Therefore, regional expansion should continue to be realized.
