Yetetkun PLBN is confirmed to be completed this year
The Papua Provincial Government through the Border and Foreign Cooperation Agency ensures that the construction of the Yetetkun Cross-Border Post or PLBN in Ninati District, Boven Digoel Regency will be completed in March or April 2022. This was stated by the Head of the Papua Province Border and Foreign Cooperation Agency, Suzana Wanggai in Jayapura, Saturday (22/1/2022).
Wanggai said the presence of the PLBN in the area was aimed at increasing the economic activities of the local community. "We continue to disseminate information about the benefits and regulations to the local community, considering that when this post is completed, border officers will also be present," said Wanggai.
He claimed, throughout 2021, the border, cross-border and border area development program was going well. The government has never remained silent in its efforts to equalize the people's economy, especially since Boven Digoel has a lot of history.
"Essentially, we want the border regions and communities to progress in various sectors," he said.
Wanggai added that this year his party also built eight housing units spread across four border villages, namely Sangke Village, Kofro Village, East Kriku Arso Village, Keerom Regency and Skouw Sae Village, Muaratami District, Jayapura City.
"We hope that people in the border areas can use it well," he hoped.
Previously, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono said that the construction of the Yetetkun PLBN is part of the government's commitment to carry out the Nawacita mandate initiated by President Joko Widodo. The Nawacita conveyed five years ago wanted to “Build from the Periphery”.
"The goal is to make the national border area, which is often referred to as the backyard of the State of Indonesia, into a front porch that we can be proud of," said Basuki.
