Pertamina supports the Mimika Regent's decision to regulate diesel sales

PT Pertamina (Persero) Patra Niaga Sub Holding Commercial and Trading Regional Papua Maluku fully supports the issuance of the Mimika Regent's Instruction Number 2 of 2022 concerning the supervision and control and regulation of the sale of certain types of subsidized fuel oil, namely diesel and kerosene.

Branch Sales Manager IV of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Region Papua Maluku, Nanda Setyantoro in Timika, Friday, said the decision is expected to strengthen supervision of subsidized diesel sales at four gas stations in Timika City for certain types of vehicles.

"Essentially, we from Pertamina support the Mimika Regional Government's decision regarding the selection of gas stations that sell diesel fuel specifically for any vehicle. We continue to support and together with the Regional Government supervise in the field. We certainly hope that this program will run smoothly and be accepted by the community," he said. .

Regarding the regulation of subsidized kerosene sales, Nanda said it was solely to suppress the practice of selling kerosene by retailers on the roadside at very high prices.

"Kerosene is subsidized fuel which retailers should not sell carelessly, especially if the price is many times the price set by the government. In the future, all people who receive kerosene subsidies can only buy kerosene at official bases," he said.

Currently, Pertamina is re-mapping the existence of kerosene bases in the City of Timika and its surroundings so that the distribution of kerosene to the people who are entitled to it is more even.

In the Timika area, there are four kerosene distributors with more than 200 bases. Every day Pertamina distributes 25-30 kiloliters of kerosene to Timika City and its surroundings to meet the needs of the local community.

Meanwhile, subsidized diesel is only sold by four of the six gas stations in Timika City. Every day Pertamina distributes around 8 kiloliters of diesel fuel to each of these gas stations.

According to Nanda, the regulation on selling subsidized diesel at four gas stations in Timika will be effective starting Saturday (26/2).

"The Mimika Regent's instructions are enforced from today, but not all gas stations have implemented them, because they are still being socialized to the public. The implementation will be effective starting tomorrow," explained Nanda.

In the instruction signed by the Mimika Regent, Eltinus Omaleng, the Mimika Regency Government regulates the types of vehicles and places for filling diesel at four gas stations in Timika City.

The Nawaripi gas station is devoted to filling diesel fuel for bus vehicles, SP 2 gas station is devoted to serving diesel fuel filling for trucks, Hasanuddin gas station is devoted to serving diesel fuel filling for pick up vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Kilometer 8 gas station is devoted to trucks transporting basic necessities and building materials from Poumako port as well as purchasing services using jerry cans for the needs of fishermen, agriculture, livestock and public facilities lighting.

Meanwhile, private vehicles can fill up at all gas stations that provide diesel fuel.

With such an arrangement, gas stations are prohibited from selling certain types of fuel (diesel) in the form of drums and jerry cans for any purpose, unless recommended by the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) in charge.

Gas stations are also prohibited from selling/distributing certain types of subsidized fuel (diesel) to official vehicles used by ASN, TNI and Polri. Also vehicles/goods cars with more than 6 (six) wheels for commercial, business and industrial purposes or interests.

In order for the distribution of certain types of fuel (kerosene) to be right on target, the kerosene agents (AMT) are required to supervise each distribution of kerosene from the base to the consumer users for household needs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Each kerosene base is also prohibited from selling kerosene to retailers. Even traders or retailers are prohibited from selling kerosene in jerry cans, bottles and the like, either on the roadside or through online transactions.
