Ali Kabiay: The April 1 Action is Not Pure Papuan People's Aspirations
The distribution of leaflets to protest the expansion of new autonomous regions in the name of the Papuan People's Petition (PRP), was denied by the Chairman of the Regional II Indigenous Youth, Saireri, Wednesday 30/03/22.
Ali Kabiay in a statement to the press said that the agenda of rejecting the new autonomous regions and special autonomy on behalf of the Papuan people was an impure thought, because the act of rejecting the new autonomous regions was filled with political interests.
"There are certain groups who have an interest in encouraging the rejection of the new autonomous regions on April 1, and this is not purely from the thoughts of the Papuan people as a whole, only a group of people," explained Ali.
Furthermore, Ali said, that this community group has narrow ideals and behind it there are actors who play to disrupt or disrupt the expansion program for both provinces and districts.
The actor referred to by Ali is those who do not want their dinner plate to be shared with other community groups, in this case the expansion of the territory.
"So, the actors behind this rejection are those who don't want to share their dinner plates or cakes that they have found so far to be shared with other community groups, because if the new autonomous regions are expanded, the cake ration will be reduced or it can be lost," he said.
Ali also emphasized that they are the ones who have always controlled politics in Papua, even the bureaucracy and the budget are controlled by them, this is very ridiculous.
"It's not only about dinner plates, political issues, bureaucracy and budgets, but the ridiculous thing is that DOB is rejected but the money is enjoyed by them, it's very sad," said Ali.
For this reason, in the agenda on behalf of the Papuan people, Ali asked all Papuans to read the dynamics of the situation, not to be easily provoked into taking actions that harm themselves and others, because they are an irresponsible group.
"There is an effort to condition the situation into chaos like the riots in 2019, it is hoped that all Indonesian citizens in Papua will avoid it and jointly help the TNI and Polri officers to maintain Kamtibmas in Papua," he said.
Ali reminded that Papua is vast with different cultures, cultures and customary areas, so that no single group can represent other groups on behalf of the Papuan people. The government has also provided the best way for regional expansion so that the Papuan people feel the distribution of welfare and justice.
