The Regent of Biak Meets with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture regarding the Development of the Agricultural Sector

In the context of developing the agricultural sector in order to make the food security program a success, the Regent of Biak Numfor, Herry Aryo Naap, S.Si, M.Pd held an Audience with Deputy Minister of Agriculture Harvick Hasnul Qulbi at the Office of the Ministry of Agriculture recently.

Herry hopes that in 2023 and beyond, the direction of program policies from the Ministry of Agriculture can assist the development of the Agriculture and Livestock sector in the Biak Numfor district.

“Biak Numfor has the potential to develop a number of agricultural and livestock commodities. There are several commodities that have been developed in the community, namely local laying hens, pigs, ginger and several other commodities”. said the Regent.

Responding to this, Wamentan Harvick Hasnul Qulbi welcomed the initiative of the Regent of Biak Numfor, he assessed that As a regional head, Herry Naap is quite creative and actively builds communication to a number of Ministries and institutions intensively for the progress of the Biak Numfor district by asking for support for the Agriculture and Livestock program in his area. .

"We welcome what has been said, the point is we want to develop Indonesia as a whole. Of course, in terms of policy, what has been conveyed in our meeting will be of concern”. he insisted.

Harvick hopes that the Biak Numfor district government will accelerate the agricultural sector in its region which has potential. Not only in cultivation activities, but also through post-harvest yield management activities.

He admits that the full picture that the Ministry has regarding the potential of each region is very limited. "So for all our friends in the region, communication like this is very important, so we can find out what potentials exist in the region," said Harvick.

The vice minister said that by doing this kind of communication, it can help his party obtain accurate information and data regarding the potential or progress that exists in each region.
