Cartenz Peace Task Force shoots dead KKB members in Ilaga

The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force (Satgas) shot dead a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), named Ali Teu Kogoya (35 years old), in Ilaga, Puncak Regency, Papua, Sunday (3/4).

"It is true that there was a shooting that killed KKB members in Ilaga, Sunday (3/4)," said the Papuan Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Inspector General Pol. Mathius Fakhiri told ANTARA in Jayapura, Monday.

The KKB member had to be shot by the officers because he tried to resist and shot the officer when he was about to be arrested.

Ali Kogoya, who is a member of KKB Kuyawage, carried a firearm of the type FN 46 AK, with serial No. EA 1520077, which contained two bullets in the magazine.

Fakhiri said Ali Kogoya's body was then taken to the Ilaga Health Center, while officers secured evidence in the form of an FN 46 firearm at the Puncak Police.

He added, based on the reports received, the firearms that Kogoya brought came from Undius Kogoya. Ali Kogoya is known to have joined Kelenak Telenggen in Ilaga, Puncak Regency.
