IDX Papua recorded 1,961 new investors per month during the first quarter

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) stated that the growth of capital market investors from January to March 2022 per month averaged 1,961 new investors in the Papua Province.
 
Head of the IDX Papua Representative Office, Kresna Aditya Payokwa in Jayapura, Friday, said that the total capital market investors as of March were 50,014 investors with 5,883 new investors.
 
"There was a growth in capital market investors during the first quarter of 2022 in Papua, namely 46,252 investors in January, 47,883 investors in February and 50,014 investors in March," he said.
 
According to Kresna, when compared to last year's figure and the same month, the total number of capital market investors was still at 29,474 investors.
 
"There is a significant increase of more than 60 percent for the growth of capital market investors," he said.
 
He explained that the growth of capital market investors was also accompanied by an increase in stock exchange transactions in the first quarter of 2022 which reached Rp. 5.6 trillion during January to March.
 
"The average transaction per month can reach IDR 2.2 trillion, specifically for Papua in March it can reach IDR 856 billion," he said again.
 
He added that the active transaction of investors in Papua is now very good, which is based on data about 30 percent of investors are actively transacting.
