Chronology of Truck Driver Killed by KKB, Kidnapped and then Scattered by Bullets

Truck driver Nober Palintin (31) was found dead in a river in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua. The victim was previously abducted by armed criminal group terrorists (KKB) in Gome District and was fired at by bullets.

"The victim was previously kidnapped," said the Deputy Chief of the Public Relations Task Force for Peace Operations, Cartenz, AKBP Arif Irawan when contacted by detikcom, Friday (13/5/2022).

According to Arif, the victim and his colleague with the initials AT were initially mining for sand in Kali Ilame, Wako Village, Gome District, Puncak Regency, Papua on Wednesday (11/5). Suddenly a number of unknown people (OTK) who were later identified as members of the KKB kidnapped the victim.

"The victim was suddenly pulled from the truck and then taken away," said Arif.

According to Arif, the location of the victim was taken quite far because he was crossing from Gome District to Ilaga District. Right at the Wilipur River, Kampung Kimak, Ilaga District, the victim was immediately shot dead.

"It (Ilaga and Gome Districts) are like two different sub-districts. We also don't know why the victim was brought there," said Arif.
 
According to Arif, there were at least two gunshot wounds. The two gunshot wounds suffered by the victim on the victim's back and shoulders," said Arif.

"That's 2 times (gunshot wounds), on the back and on the shoulder," he said.
 
Arif added that KKB members actually fired 5 more shots. However, the aftershocks were supposed to scare the sand miners.

"There were five follow-up shots. They wanted to prohibit people from entering the sand extraction area," he said.
