Arriving in Sentani, the DPR RI Commission II was welcomed by hundreds of Papuans



Members of the Committee II of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) were greeted by hundreds of Papuan people when they arrived at Sentani Airport, Saturday (26/06/2022) morning.

The community received such a lively reception because they knew the agenda of the members of the DPRI Commission II Panja who would hold a meeting with all regional heads, the head of the Regency/City DPRD, traditional leaders and community leaders at the Horison Kotaraja Hotel to discuss the bill on the expansion of the province in Papua.

From this daily observation, since morning the Papuan people have thronged the Sentani Airport Area, starting from the parking lot to the VIP Room page. Apart from Papuan Orang Asli (OAP) but there are also non-OAP people who are present together to welcome. When they arrived in front of the VIP Room, the members of the Committee II committee were also greeted with dances and greetings from all the people and associations present at that time.

The enthusiasm of the people who welcomed them indicated that the Papuan people's longing was really great for the expansion or the formation of a New Autonomous Region (DOB).

The Papuans who attended the pick-up were very heterogeneous, ranging from young people who were members of the Papua Red and White Front, women, traditional institutions, religions who were members of a number of organizations and the archipelago's associations. The Papuan and Jayapura Regency officials who were also present at the pick-up procession were the Jayapura Regent, Mathius Awoitauw, SE, M.Si, Assistant II of the Papua Province Regional Secretariat, Abdul Mossad, Doren Wakerwa, TNI/Polri leaders.

After being welcomed by the VIP Room at Sentani Airport, the members of the Committee II Commission received a statement of attitude from representatives of the Tabi Indigenous Community, then the group was accompanied by a drum flute groub out of the VIP parking lot at Sentani Airport heading to Jayapura City. For your information, the statement on the attitude of the Tabi Indigenous Peoples which has been submitted to the members of the Committee II of the DPR RI contains four (4) points of statement of attitude.

First, to support the central government in the context of the expansion of the New Autonomous Region in Cenderawasih Earth.

Second, to support the central government, to immediately pass laws for three new provinces in Papua

Third, upholding traditional values that are dignified, peaceful and loving towards the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

And fourth, Papua is Indonesia, Indonesia is Papua, united in the lap of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
