Jayapura Regency Government Guarantees Environmental Cleanliness until the Implementation of the Indigenous Peoples Congress of the Archipelago

The Jayapura Regency Environmental Service guarantees that environmental cleanliness is maintained until the 6th Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago Congress (KMAN) is held on 24-29 October 2022.

This was conveyed by the Head of DLH Jayapura Regency, Abdul Rahman Basri to Tribun-Papua.com, in Sentani, Monday (30/5/2022).

"We guarantee the safety of welcoming the KMAN Congress regarding environmental cleanliness," said Abdul.

His party has also coordinated at the village and district levels in the Sentani City area, to carry out environmental management.

"The coordination received a good response, and there really was participation by all residents and village officials," he explained.

Abdul said, every week his party also conducts socialization, coaching and social services

"Every Friday and Saturday, we also go down to the villages around Sentani to socialize with the community so that they protect the environment, and don't litter," he explained.

In addition, it also provides a number of garbage bin facilities.

"We also support cleaning facilities, such as garbage bins and transport trucks. All of this has become a routine for us and the villagers in welcoming the congress of indigenous peoples of the archipelago," he concluded.

Previously, the Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitaw ordered all the heads of the Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) in his ranks to play an active role in welcoming the 6th KMAN celebration.

"This is their job, such as the Plantation Service, agriculture, especially in the economic sector. All of this must continue to be encouraged," said Mathius to Tribun-Papua.com.

This needs to be done because according to him, the organizing committee definitely needs local food.

"Because the guests who come later want to taste local food, therefore the OPD has to start," he said.
