4 Regions in Tabi Region Donate Funds for National Indigenous Peoples Congress
Four districts in the Tabi customary territory are ready to support the implementation of the 6th Congress of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (KMAN).
This national celebration will be held from 24 to 29 October 2022 in Jayapura Regency, Papua.
"These four areas are Jayapura City, Sarmi Regency, Keerom, and Mamberamo Raya," said Chairman of the KMAN Steering Committee, Rev. Alberth Yoku to Tribun-Papua.com, in Sentani, Thursday (30/6/2022).
The four regions also provide support in the form of implementation funds.
"Jayapura City itself will be cloudy for Rp. 15 billion, then Keerom, Sarmi and Mamberamo Raya Regencies will be Rp. 5 billion each," he said.
Yoku explained that the budgets from the three regencies are a support for the Jayapura City and Regency Governments' budgets.
"So we arrange for Sarmi and Mamberamo Raya Regencies to support Jayapura Regency, and Keerom to support Jayapura City," he said.
Meanwhile, Jayapura Regency has prepared a budget of Rp. 15 billion to make KMAN successful.
"If the Jayapura Regency budget has been fixed at Rp 15 billion, while for Jayapura City, Keerom Regency, Sarmi, and Mamberamo Raya, we have met and submitted proposals, just waiting for the execution," he concluded.
In general, the budget needed to hold the congress is around Rp. 60 billion to Rp. 70 billion.
