Traditional mining cooperatives support development in Masni District



Local community groups who are members of the Jasa Putra Manted Mandiri Cooperative use part of the proceeds from the sale of gold they get to help finance physical development in Masni District, Manokwari Regency, West Papua.

The chairman of the Jasa Putra Manted Mandiri Cooperative, Seblon Mandacan in Manokwari, Thursday, said that his commitment to assisting the physical development in Masni District began with the construction of a 100-meter environmental road in the Manted Village area.
 
"Part of the gold natural wealth that we manage is traditionally used to build villages in the Masni sub-district," said Seblon.

Not only in Manted Village, the Jasa Putra Manted Mandiri Cooperative is also ready to contribute to the development of 32 villages spread across Masni District, where physical development will be carried out in stages according to the ability of the cooperative.
 
"Today we have started the activity of casting an environmental road in Manted Village along 100 meters with a road width of 5 meters. Furthermore, the same activities will be adapted to the needs of each village," he said.
 
Previously, the Regent of Manokwari Regency, Hermus Indou, had made an agreement with the tribal chiefs who owned the ulayat of gold mining locations in Masni District for the issuance of the People's Mining Permit (IPR).
 
"The work team formed by the Manokwari Regional Government will help speed up the IPR process, so that management and utilization can be controlled," said the Regent on an occasion recently.
