Killed 22 People for 3 Months, Moeldoko Called TPNPB-OPM Attacks Cruel and Barbaric

The attack on the West Papua National Liberation Army of the Free Papua Organization (TPNPB-OPM) during 2022 has claimed dozens of lives.

This was stated by the Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko. "Especially in 2022, from April to July 2022, 18 crimes have been committed and 22 people have died," he said.

If calculated from 2010 to March 2022, KKB has carried out no less than 226 actions. In its actions, KKB committed murders, burned public facilities, government buildings, health centers, schools and houses of residents.

Moeldoko concluded that what KKB did was considered a cruel and barbaric act and was against human values.

He also said that the KKB used the guise of fighting for the Papuan people. In fact, Moeldoko said that the KKB carried out the attack for personal gain.

He then regretted it when he saw that KKB had actually committed cruel acts in addition to the government's efforts to accelerate the progress of welfare in Papua.

Furthermore, Moeldoko emphasized that the government would take firm action against the KKB which had massacred 10 civilians some time ago.

"The government will take firm action against KKB through law enforcement, firm action is only aimed at KKB, nothing else. This affirmation is important so that there is no wrong perception of the actions of the security forces that will be carried out," he said.
