Arriving in Nduga, Gwijangge Regent urges the public to be calm and not provoked
Nduga Regent, Namia Gwijangge, appealed to the people in Nduga Regency not to be provoked by unclear issues related to the killing of Nduga residents in Mimika.
This was conveyed by the Regent of Nduga after attending the reconstruction of the murder of 4 Nduga residents in Mimika Regency on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
Arriving in Nduga Regency, Monday (6/9/2022), the Regent after carrying out the inauguration of the Pioneer Flight route in collaboration between the Nduga Regency Government and PT. Associated Mission Aviation, he appealed to the public to remain calm and wise in dealing with wild issues that spread in the community after the murder of 4 Nduga residents in Mimika Regency some time ago.
The Regent of Namia, said that the community should not be easily consumed by the wild issues that are currently developing. This incident did invite various responses in the community but the community must remain wise and calm in facing the existing situation.
“As the Regent, I ask the people to remain calm, don't act rashly. Don't easily believe the rumors circulating, not all of them are true, so we have to be smart and wise in receiving information," said Namia.
The Regent appealed to the public not to take any retaliatory actions or actions that violate the law.
"The people here (Nduga) remain calm and safe, they must not develop rumors that are not true. There must be no retaliation, killing or injuring it must not happen again. We have to keep the Nduga situation, which is already safe and comfortable, from being damaged again with actions that violate the law," said the Regent of Namia.
Meanwhile, Nduga Police Chief AKBP Rio Alexander Panelewen, explained that security in Nduga Regency so far is safe and conducive.
“We, the police, urge the public to remain calm and orderly. We take care of the Nduga Kamtibmas situation, which is currently safe and comfortable. Synergy from all elements is very important in order to create a Nduga Regency that is safe and continues to develop," said the Nduga Police Chief.
According to Police Chief AKBP Rio Alexander Panelewen, his party has coordinated with community leaders from Nduga and the families of the victims, who have agreed that all these issues will be handed over to the Police for processing according to applicable law and there will be no retaliation against civilians.
