Jayapura City Chamber of Commerce and Industry invites SMEs to register NIB immediately

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Jayapura City, Papua, invites micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to immediately register their business registration number (NIB), which is at the Papua Provincial Kadin office.

Head of the Jayapura City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jan Vriese in Jayapura, Thursday, said that so far only a few MSMEs have NIBs, so his party urges business actors to immediately register their businesses.

"In the future, by having an NIB, it is easy for business actors to get capital assistance and entrepreneurship training," he said.

According to Jan, his party is currently collaborating with one of the banks to provide business capital assistance for MSMEs that have an NIB.

"In the future there will be many more collaborations that we will build to revive MSMEs so that they become economic recovery in Jayapura City, especially Papua," he said.

He explained that based on the direction of President Joko Widodo, almost 70 percent of MSMEs play an important role in reviving the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"With this directive, the business actors of Jayapura City must be developed properly so that MSMEs can advance to class," he said again.

Previously, the Kadin of Papua Province stated that it was ready to help the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordination Agency to achieve the target of 200 thousand MSMEs to have NIB in Cenderawasih Earth.

Chairman of the Papua Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ronald Antonio, said that one of the efforts was to open an NIB management assistance service at the local Kadin Office.

"We took the initiative to help MSMEs in Papua in the NIB issuance process, where if there are problems, the public is welcome to come to the office," he said.
