PAN Legislators Strongly Criticize Lukas Enembe's Actions for Gambling in 3 Countries

Member of Commission II of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, the PAN faction, Guspardi Gaus, strongly criticized the actions of the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, who played gambling abroad.
 
According to Guspardi, as regional head, Lukas must guard his every word and behavior, because they are role models for the community.

"A governor or regional head playing gambling abroad is still prohibited by law. Because the regulations prohibiting gambling are not bound in a certain space and time," said Guspardi in his written statement, Thursday (29/8/2022)
 
"The realm is not only domestically and abroad, where, when and under any conditions, the act of gambling is an act prohibited by law," he continued.

Meanwhile, said Guspardi, as a public official and regional head, of course he must be careful and maintain ethics, behavior, personality, speech so that he becomes a good example for the people he leads.
 
"Because he is a role model, what he does, what he says, what he does must be highlighted by the public," said the PAN politician.

Based on the records of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), there are at least 25 Foreign Travel History of Lukas Enembe, which is suspected to be mostly for gambling.

"Lukas is alleged to have traveled abroad from December 2021 to August 2022. Indeed, there is treatment, but most of it is for gambling," said Guspardi.
 
The legislator from West Sumatra said that there was a need for guidance to regional heads so as not to violate laws and regulations, such as reprimanding and processing the law if they were proven to have violated the law.
 
"Therefore, it is necessary to carry out coaching. There are various kinds of guidance, there are warnings, reprimands, then in the realm of law, of course there is a legal process.
