School activities in Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua for a year had stopped.

During that time, the students' learning activities were not fulfilled.

This is because the existence of the Papuan KKB in Puncak Regency has had a bad impact.
 
As a result of the KKB, school activities were suspended for approximately 1 year.

But now the situation is different. Thousands of elementary, middle and high school students in Puncak Papua are back in school.

Reporting from a broadcast on Kompas TV, school activities began with a prayer together with the local government.

This joy is again reflected on the faces of students in Puncak Papua Regency, who are now able to return to school after being stopped for a year due to the disruption of the Papuan KKB.

Where since the security disturbances occurred in 2020, most of the teaching staff chose to flee from Puncak Regency leaving their work locations, so that a number of schools in several districts stopped.

Now government activities in Ilaga Papua are back to normal, starting with economic health services and education.

Even the city center also looks crowded.

With this situation, the teaching staff hopes that there will be security guarantees for those who work in remote and conflict-prone areas.

Because it is very unfortunate for the children who had to stop their education due to the conflict.
 
Until now, the local government continues to cooperate with the Indonesian National Police to provide security guarantees for public servants, such as teachers and health workers who work in Puncak Papua Regency.

The Peaceful Dialogue of the Papuan KKB and the Government of Indonesia Will Be Implemented?

Meanwhile, a peaceful dialogue between the Papuan Armed Criminal Groups or KKB and the Indonesian Government is said to be happening soon.

Even Komnas HAM said that the OPM was willing to make peace.

Komnas HAM chairman Ahmad Taufan Damanik said the best way to stop the brutality of the Papuan KKB was dialogue to achieve peace.

"Komnas HAM sees the best way to resolve the violent conflict in Papua is peaceful dialogue," said Taufan when met at the Komnas HAM Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The idea for a peaceful dialogue, said Taufan, has been explored by Komnas HAM since 2021.

Initially this idea was rejected, both from the Armed Violence Group (KKB), the Free Papua Organization (OPM).

Several times Komnas HAM explored the idea of peace in Papua, ending with rejection, and even demonstrations.
 
However, recently, said Taufan, all parties, both from the OPM and the Indonesian government, are willing to sit down with Komnas HAM to create peace.

"We have also spoken with the Indonesian government, represented by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, and have received full support from the government, from the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief (for a peaceful dialogue)," he explained.

"All parties agree that peaceful dialogue is the most dignified solution, which best fulfills our humanity," continued Taufan.

Taufan said, reflecting on the experience of peace in Aceh, the path of peace in Papua should have been realized.

"Aceh and we are examples of the world with one success story in conducting peaceful dialogue, who says we can't?

This nation is a big nation because it must have a big soul to solve this (violence in Papua) problem," said Taufan.
