The government disburses IDR 214 billion BLT BBM in West Papua

The government disbursed direct cash assistance (BLT) as a diversion of fuel subsidies (BBM) for beneficiary communities in West Papua Province worth IDR 214 billion.

Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) of the West Papua Ministry of Finance, Bayu Andy Prasetya, in Manokwari, West Papua, Monday, said the number of families receiving BLT BBM (KPM) in West Papua was 356,876 KPM.

"The distribution of BLT BBM is intended to reduce the burden of household expenses as a result of the increase in fuel prices. This is also an effort to maintain people's purchasing power in the midst of the current uncertain global economic situation," he explained.

Each KPM gets a BLT BBM allocation of IDR 150 thousand per month starting from September to December 2022.

In Manokwari, the first phase of BLT BBM distribution was carried out some time ago to 387 KPM.

The Head of the Manokwari Post Office, Johannes Kesaulija, said that the 387 KPMs had been recorded as recipients of government assistance, each of which received the first phase of BLT BBM Rp. 300,000 and non-cash food assistance (BPNT) or basic food assistance for September 2022 worth Rp. 200,000.

The distribution of BLT BBM to residents in Manokwari is scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 9, 2022, although the distribution time may be extended.

BLT BBM recipients are required to bring their identity cards and original family cards when taking government social assistance.

The recipients of BLT BBM throughout Indonesia are 20.650 million KPM, with the allocation of funds disbursed by the government reaching Rp. 12.39 trillion.
