The Jayapura City Government invites MSME actors to increase the productivity of aquatic fish farming
The City Government (Pemkot) of Jayapura, Papua Province, invites Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, especially those in the fish processing industry in the region, to increase productivity in aquatic fish farming.
Assistant II for the Economy and Development of the Regional Secretariat of Jayapura City, Widi Hartanti in Jayapura, Friday said the increasing public interest in consuming fish every year has caused this commodity to have a high selling value, especially in Jayapura.
According to Widi, this has even become one of the key factors for fluctuations in inflation in Jayapura City.
"This shows that fish commodities have a promising economic value so that they can become an alternative business to answer the unemployment problem in Jayapura City," he said when inaugurating the fish processing unit building, Friday.
He explained that as the capital city of Papua Province, growth and development in Jayapura City will continue to develop rapidly which will certainly have an impact on increasing economic needs.
Related to that, his party is determined to continue to build Jayapura City in order to create a quality of life for people who are advanced, independent, and prosperous with the fish processing unit development program.
He added that the existence of a fish processing unit is expected to be used as well as possible with the hope that through it can produce quality fish.
"Strive to be independent in business by implementing sustainable business management," he said.
