Community of 25 villages involved in Isosolo Dance during FDS

The local committee of the VI Indigenous Peoples Congress of the Archipelago (KMAN) VI involved the community in 25 villages in Jayapura Regency, Papua in the Isosolo Dance at the Lake Sentani Festival, in the Kalkote Lake area, Tuesday.

Coordinator for Site Events at KMAN VI Jayapura Regency, Parson Horota in Sentani, Tuesday, said the Isosolo dance is one of the dances that is often performed at the Lake Sentani Festival or FDS.

In addition, he said, his party also involved 20 studios located in the 'kambai umbai' earth to collaborate to entertain the people who were present at the festival.

"In FDS we also invite most Papuan children who have talents in the arts and culture to be displayed in this event," he said.

According to Parson, in the future, in the implementation of the FDS, all SOEs as well as BUMD can be involved so that the echo of the festival is more visible.

"Because actually the echo for FDS this time is not very visible because it is held in conjunction with KMAN VI so that only arts and culture are involved in FDS," he said.

He explained, while for the custom itself, it was carried out in the implementation of the KMAN VI workshop.

He added that since the COVID-19 pandemic, FDS had not been carried out so that it was only in 2022 that his party began to hold it again.

"And our hope is that in 2023 we will design for FDS to be even better," he said again.

Isosolo dance or isolo is a traditional art of the Sentani people who dance on a boat on Lake Sentani.
