Menparekraf: The national private sector will assist the tourist village of Ugar Fakfak

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that a national private company would provide training and assistance for the Ugar community in Fakfak Regency, West Papua, to improve creative economy products.

"Kemenparekraf invites PT Astra to conduct training and assistance to the people of Kampung Ugar," said Sandiaga Uno during a working visit in Fakfak Regency, Friday (14/10).

According to him, the regional creative economy products have great potential so that they will be encouraged by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in training and mentoring programs so that they can develop.

He hopes that the training and mentoring support can improve the local community's economy.

Moreover, the company has an extensive network throughout Indonesia and excels in village assistance programs to advance the community's economy.

Ugar Village, which has passed the top 50 of the 2022 Indonesian Tourism Village Award, is expected to progress as a conservation-based and sustainable tourism destination.

The Regent of Fakfak Untung Tamsil, who gave a separate statement, said that the district was focused on developing sustainable tourism for the welfare of the community.

"Fakfak has a master plan for regional tourism development with a tourism and economic development movement for the community or abbreviated as Earthquake, which really needs the support of the central government for the welfare of the community," added the Regent.
