PLN Manokwari guarantees electricity supply during Christmas-New Year

PT PLN (Persero) Manokwari Customer Service Unit, West Papua, guarantees the availability of electricity supply during Christmas and New Year celebrations in that area.

Manager of PLN UP3 Manokwari Fredrik M Noriwari in Manokwari, Monday, said the availability of electric power in Manokwari is currently sufficient with a power reserve of 12 megawatts (MW).

"For the Manokwari system itself, the total available power is 44.4 MW with a peak load of 32 MW. We still have 12 MW of power reserves, so our system is safe," said Fredrik.

In connection with that, recently the ranks of PLN UP3 Manokwari carried out an equipment troop to ensure electricity reliability during Christmas and New Year.

Fredrik said that as many as 92 personnel will be deployed in several PLN UP3 Manokwari areas which include the City of Manokwari, Prafi, Bintuni to Wasior.
 
Dozens of personnel will be on full alert 24 hours a day during Christmas and New Year. "Implementation of this rally is a form of PLN's commitment in ensuring the reliability of electricity supply during the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year celebrations," said Fredrik.

In addition to personnel readiness, PLN also checks work equipment and ensures readiness in terms of equipment such as supporting equipment that has been prepared.

In that ceremony, PLN emphasized the implementation of preparations by carrying out network maintenance more intensely and ensuring personnel are alert and ready to immediately make repairs if a disturbance occurs.

"Supported by technical personnel, PLN also adds fast moving material to support if there is a disturbance. Coupled with equipment that has been checked in good condition for work equipment and must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow SOP," he said.

He stated that during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the PLN 123 Contact Center service also remained on standby 24 hours to serve customers. If there are problems related to power outages and other complaints, customers can contact via the PLN mobile application.
