Commission III Urges Apparatus to Arrest and Prosecute KKB Who Killed 10 Residents in Papua

Member of Commission III of the DPR RI Habiburokhman hopes that the TNI and Polri will move quickly to arrest members of the armed criminal group (KKB) who shot 10 civilians in Nduga, Papua. He hopes that the perpetrators of the shooting will be brought to justice soon.

"We are very sad and concerned about the victims of the shooting in Nduga. We hope that the perpetrators can be caught soon and the law is enforced. Law enforcement officers must go all out to find the perpetrators," said Habiburokhman, quoted from detikNews, Sunday (16/7/2022).

Habiburokhman emphasized that what the KKB had just done in Papua was a very heinous act. So that his actions must be eradicated and the perpetrators punished.

“Apart from political issues in the Papua region, there is no justification for KKB or anyone else to shoot civilians. Anyone who violates the law must be arrested," he added.

Another member of Commission III, Arsul Sani, asked the TNI and Polri to immediately take firm action against the armed criminal group (KKB) after the massacre of 10 civilians in Nduga Papua. Because the massacre was considered to be categorized as terrorism.

Arsul said that the TNI and Polri do not have to worry about the firm actions that will be taken later being highlighted because they are considered human rights violations. He guaranteed that Commission III of the DPR RI in charge of law, human rights and security would provide guarantees.

"Commission III will provide full political support for these law enforcement operations and will also counter any framing attempts that these operations constitute human rights violations, both in the media and in national and international forums," he said.
